| Augustus Hezekiah Brown was born on March 1, 1861 in Brownsville, Weber County, Utah. The city name was later changed to Ogden. His father, Captain James Brown, of the Mormon- U.S. Battalion Company C, died from an accident when Augustus was two and a half years old. His mother, Lavinia Mitchell Brown, remarried on January to John Horrocks.
Augustus had one sister from his parents union, Lavina Sarah Brown, born October 31, 1858. Sarah married Sam Drysdale
Augustus married Eliza Harriet Plant, born c.1866 at Walton, Northampton, England.
Augustus died on March 29, 1916.
