Sarah Brown was born on October 31, 1858 in Brownsville, Weber County, Utah. The city name was later changed to Ogden. Her father, Captain James Brown, of the Mormon- U.S. Battalion Company C, died from an accident when Sarah was nearly five years old. Her mother, Lavinia Mitchell Brown, remarried on January 20, 1865 to John Horrocks.
Sarah had one brother from his parents union, Augustus Hezikiah Brown, born March 1, 1861. Augustus married Eliza Harriet Plant, born c.1866 at Walton, Northampton, England.
Augustus died on March 29 1916.
Sarah married Sam Drysdale.
