Christina Wanlass is the daughter of James Wanlass (1825-1895) and Margaret Neilson Wanlass (1821-1903).

Christina was the widow of John Hunter 1851-1886, while Robert Allen Hunter was the widower of Janet Chalmers 1847-1886. After the death of their respective spouses in 1886 they married on November 5, 1890 in Scotland.
